Reiki Treatment โ€” Angelic Tree of Life Treatment

One of the most wondrous aspects of Reiki is the angelic assistance that we can receive when we give Reiki treatments. Angels witness the treatment and act as silent assistants, ensuring a wonderful completeness to every session. Many practitioners include with their intention a request for angels to be present and time and time again amazing stories have been told of how their presence has been both seen and felt.

From the time of your attunement and every time that you use Reiki, angels are present to both witness and assist you. The practitioner acts as a channel during a Reiki treatment while the intelligence of Reiki (and also the angels) do the work that needs to be done. It is a wonderful position to be in, knowing that it is not in our hands to determine the best course of action.

Many Practitioners request the assistance of angels when stating their intention and some take steps to utilize their services at different stages of the treatment. These requests can continue and can be used in conjunction with this treatment, which calls upon Archangels in relation to their role in the Tree of Life.

Angels can be called on for assistance as you would a friend. They will always respond and be there for you. No special, magical chants or words are needed to call upon them. Your intention is a powerful energy tool to reach out to them which they will hear acknowledge.

  • Simply call to them in your mind
  • Introduce yourself
  • Note your request
  • Thank them for their involvement
  • Proceed with the treatment

Developing a relationship with an angel is encouraged. You will get used to their energy, just as they get used to your personal characteristics and style. Devote some time to thanking these angels by sending them Reiki.

  • Select the angel whom you wish to thank
  • Prepare to send Distant Reiki
  • Tell the angel of your appreciation for their assistance and offer the Reiki as an expression of gratitude
  • Send Reiki to them for as long as you wish

You will find over time that you will become more sensitive to their presence and involvement and more intuitive as to their suggestions and guidance. This connection will enhance all of your Reiki sessions and increase your enjoyment of this one.

altThe Kabbalah Tree of Life is a representation of the thirty-two paths comprised of the ten sephiroth and the twenty-two paths through which they run. On a very superficial level, the best analogy to describe the Tree of Life is that of a map of the human psyche, and of the workings of creation, both manifest and not. It outlines the route of divine energy to find expression in our physical world. Those that study Kabbalah and utilize the teachings associated with the Tree of Life understand its power but one does not need to understand it to use it in conjunction with Reiki. The Tree enables you to work towards understanding and accessing those principles that you can apply to your own life. It enables you to see the relationship of virtues and vices and how you can balance these to access the joy of life that is yours to obtain. An Archangel is associated with each sphere. These angels are available to all that call upon them. Doing so will assist you in obtaining the strength that you need to face life challenges and move along your own spiritual path.

The following treatment will enable you to request the assistance of particular angels in relation to their role in the Tree of Life. Knowledge of the Tree is not necessary. Angels will not pass judgment or have particular preference for those that have more awareness than others. They will respond to your request for assistance and be there for the well-being of your client. This is a very powerful treatment process. It can be a wonderful, very meditative-like session for the practitioner as well.

Note that there are 13 positions and, depending on the usual length of your treatments, devote the required time to each position. Prepare yourself for the treatment as you usually do but note your intention to call upon these angels for assistance:

  • Metatron
  • Raziel
  • Zadkiel
  • Haniel
  • Sandalphon
  • Michael
  • Chamuel
  • Zaphkiel
  • Raphael
  • Gabriel

Advise them that you will be asking them to assist you during your Reiki Treatment. Each angel will address specific aspects, physically, emotionally and spiritually. The effect on the client can be quite wonderful and extreme. It should be expected since you are calling upon so many angels to assist in the work you are about to do.

You will be moving around the body as you do with a regular treatment. The diagram shows you the locations where you are to direct your hands. None of the following positions will require you to touch the clientโ€™s body, but follow your intuition as you may intuitively feel the need to touch. With your hands comfortably in front of you and cupped together with the palms facing the client, your hands will be beaming Reiki to them. There is no need to introduce any strict formalities here. There are no specific way to call the angels using mysterious words or phrases. Simply calling each angelโ€™s name and requesting that they assist you is enough. You will however be chanting the name of each angel in your mind at each position. This will encourage the connection with their energy and enable you to focus. As you move to another position and involve another angel, monitor the changes in your emotions as you work with each angel. Bring your attention to the flow of Reiki and your hands so that you can examine and be aware of changes in sensations throughout your body. Be prepared to have changes in your emotions as their loving energy flows through you. You may sense that the energy shifts and flows differently through you. It may feel stronger or lighter, warmer or colder. Also be conscious of a change in the atmosphere in the room as each angel comes and then departs. Relax and enjoy this wonderful treatment which can be very meditative and healing for you as well.

alt

The treatment

  1. Cup your hands over your client’s third eye and call on Archangel Metatron to assist you and feel his presence. Chant his name quietly in your mind. Metatron may be called to assist at any other position, should you feel the need for more help at a specific location during the treatment. When you wish to move to the next position, thank Metatron and ask him to wait until you need him again.
  2. Move to your client’s left side and cup your hands in line with the client’s ear. Call upon Raziel and chant his name in your mind while you beam Reiki. This archangel will assist the client (as well as you, any time) to boost their physical energy. Raziel also assists spiritual development and psychic development. When you wish to move to the next position, thank Raziel.
  3. Direct your hands to the client’s shoulder, beam Reiki towards the trunk of the body and call upon Zadkiel. Chant his name in your mind. Zadkiel will have a very positive emotional effect on the client. Zadkiel will help your client (and anyone who call on him) to find mercy and compassion and to let go of judgment and unforgiveness. When you wish to move to the next position, thank Zadkiel.
  4. Cup your hands over your client’s left hand and beaming Reiki at the body. Call upon Haniel and chant that name in your mind. This angel will address feelings of sadness. Haniel also enhances healing and clairvoyance. When you wish to move to the next position, thank Haniel.
  5. Standing at your client’s feet beam Reiki up the length of their body. Call upon Sandalphon and chant the name over in your mind. Since this position reaches the entire body, you may intuitively feel directed to stay at this position for a bit longer than other positions. This archangel will give direction to those on a spiritual path and give them answers to prayers. When you wish to move to the next position, thank Sandalphon and ask him to wait until you need him again.

Move to your client’s right side.

  1. Cup your hands over your client’s right hand and beaming Reiki at the body. Call upon Michael and chant the name in your mind. This angel will assist in creating a sphere of protection for the client. For those with emotional blockages related to unworthiness or lack of self-esteem, his encouragement will be of great assistance. When you wish to move to the next position, thank Michael.
  2. Direct your hands to the client’s shoulder, beam Reiki towards the trunk of the body and call upon Chamuel. Chant his name in your mind. Chamuel will help the client with any physical challenges they might face. Chamuel will enable your client to build solid foundations for healthy and satisfying relationship and career choices. When you wish to move to the next position, thank Chamuel.
  3. Cup your hands in line with the client’s ear. Call upon Zaphkiel and chant his name in your mind while you beam Reiki. Zaphkiel will help address any lingering or long-term pain that the client may have had and he will help your client find love and peace. When you wish to move to the next position, thank Zaphkiel.
  4. Returning to your client’s head, call upon Metatron once again. Beam Reiki at the top of the clientโ€™s head, letting it flow through the entire body. Since this will affect the client in totality, you may feel guided to stay longer at this position. When you wish to move to the next position, thank Metatron and ask him to wait until you need him again.
  5. Now your hands to the throat area. Call on Raphael and chant his name in your mind while you beam Reiki. Raphael can help the client overcome barriers to goals that they are trying to attain.
  6. Cup your hands over the client’s heart and beam Reiki while continuing to work with Raphael. This angel has a large role because of his association with healing. Raphael assists in healing the physical body, comforting the client, reducing stress and anxiety, and also addresses addiction issues. When you wish to move to the next position, thank Raphael.
  7. Cup your hands over the client’s sacral area. Call on Gabriel and chant his name in your mind. Gabriel will help the client to address any mental challenges that they may be facing. When you wish to move to the next position, thank Gabriel.
  8. Finally return to the feet, working with Sandalphon to assist in grounding your client. When the treatment is complete, thank all the angels involved.

This treatment addresses physical, emotional, mental and spiritual issues and can have a wonderful balancing effect on the client. The association with the angels create a beautiful experience for the client and the practitioner.

Forgiveness: How to let go of grudges and bitterness

When someone you care about hurts you, you can hold on to anger, resentment and thoughts of revenge or embrace forgiveness and move forward.

Nearly everyone has been hurt by the actions or words of another. Your mother criticized your parenting skills. Your friend gossiped about you. Your partner had an affair. These wounds can leave you with lasting feelings of anger, bitterness and even vengeance.

But when you don’t practice forgiveness, you may be the one who pays most dearly. By embracing forgiveness, you embrace peace, hope, gratitude and joy. Here, Katherine M. Piderman, Ph.D., staff chaplain at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn., discusses forgiveness and how it can lead you down the path of physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.

What is forgiveness?

There’s no one definition of forgiveness. But in general, forgiveness is a decision to let go of resentments and thoughts of revenge. Forgiveness is the act of untying yourself from thoughts and feelings that bind you to the offense committed against you. This can reduce the power these feelings otherwise have over you, so that you can a live freer and happier life in the present. Forgiveness can even lead to feelings of understanding, empathy and compassion for the one who hurt you.

Doesn’t forgiving someone mean you’re forgetting or condoning what happened?

Absolutely not! Forgiving isn’t the same as forgetting what happened to you. The act that hurt or offended you may always remain a part of your life. But forgiveness can lessen its grip on you and help you focus on other, positive parts of your life. Forgiveness also doesn’t mean that you deny the other person’s responsibility for hurting you, and it doesn’t minimize or justify the wrong. You can forgive the person without excusing the act.

What are the benefits of forgiving someone?

Researchers have recently become interested in studying the effects of being unforgiving and being forgiving. Evidence is mounting that holding on to grudges and bitterness results in long-term health problems. Forgiveness, on the other hand, offers numerous benefits, including:

  • Lower blood pressure
  • Stress reduction
  • Less hostility
  • Better anger management skills
  • Lower heart rate
  • Lower risk of alcohol or substance abuse
  • Fewer depression symptoms
  • Fewer anxiety symptoms
  • Reduction in chronic pain
  • More friendships
  • Healthier relationships
  • Greater religious or spiritual well-being
  • Improved psychological well-being

Why do we hold grudges and become resentful and unforgiving?

The people most likely to hurt us are those closest to us โ€” our partners, friends, siblings and parents. When we’re hurt by someone we love and trust โ€” whether it’s a lie, betrayal, rejection, abuse or insult โ€” it can be extremely difficult to overcome. And even minor offenses can turn into huge conflicts.

When you experience hurt or harm from someone’s actions or words, whether this is intended or not, you may begin experiencing negative feelings such as anger, confusion or sadness, especially when it’s someone close to you. These feelings may start out small. But if you don’t deal with them quickly, they can grow bigger and more powerful. They may even begin to crowd out positive feelings. Grudges filled with resentment, vengeance and hostility take root when you dwell on hurtful events or situations, replaying them in your mind many times.

Soon, you may find yourself swallowed up by your own bitterness or sense of injustice. You may feel trapped and may not see a way out. It’s very hard to let go of grudges at this point and instead you may remain resentful and unforgiving.

How do I know it’s time to try to embrace forgiveness?

When we hold on to pain, old grudges, bitterness and even hatred, many areas of our lives can suffer. When we’re unforgiving, it’s we who pay the price over and over. We may bring our anger and bitterness into every relationship and new experience. Our lives may be so wrapped up in the wrong that we can’t enjoy the present. Other signs that it may be time to consider forgiveness include:

  • Dwelling on the events surrounding the offense
  • Hearing from others that you have a chip on your shoulder or that you’re wallowing in self-pity
  • Being avoided by family and friends because they don’t enjoy being around you
  • Having angry outbursts at the smallest perceived slights
  • Often feeling misunderstood
  • Drinking excessively, smoking or using drugs to try to cope with your pain
  • Having symptoms of depression or anxiety
  • Being consumed by a desire for revenge or punishment
  • Automatically thinking the worst about people or situations
  • Regretting the loss of a valued relationship
  • Feeling like your life lacks meaning or purpose
  • Feeling at odds with your religious or spiritual beliefs

The bottom line is that you may often feel miserable in your current life.

How do I reach a state of forgiveness?

Forgiveness is a commitment to a process of change. It can be difficult and it can take time. Everyone moves toward forgiveness a little differently. One step is to recognize the value of forgiveness and its importance in our lives at a given time. Another is to reflect on the facts of the situation, how we’ve reacted, and how this combination has affected our lives, our health and our well-being. Then, as we are ready, we can actively choose to forgive the one who has offended us. In this way, we move away from our role as a victim and release the control and power the offending person and situation have had in our lives.

Forgiveness also means that we change old patterns of beliefs and actions that are driven by our bitterness. As we let go of grudges, we’ll no longer define our lives by how we’ve been hurt, and we may even find compassion and understanding.

What happens if I can’t forgive someone?

Forgiveness can be very challenging. It may be particularly hard to forgive someone who doesn’t admit wrong or doesn’t speak of their sorrow. Keep in mind that the key benefits of forgiveness are for you. If you find yourself stuck, it may be helpful to take some time to talk with a person you’ve found to be wise and compassionate, such as a spiritual leader, a mental health provider or an unbiased family member or friend.

It may also be helpful to reflect on times you’ve hurt others and on those who have forgiven you. As you recall how you felt, it may help you to understand the position of the person who hurt you. It can also be beneficial to pray, use guided meditation or journal. In any case, if the intention to forgive is present, forgiveness will come in its time.

Does forgiveness guarantee reconciliation?

Not always. In some cases, reconciliation may be impossible because the offender has died. In other cases, reconciliation may not be appropriate, especially if you were attacked or assaulted. But even in those cases, forgiveness is still possible, even if reconciliation isn’t.

On the other hand, if the hurtful event involved a family member or friend whose relationship you otherwise value, forgiveness may lead to reconciliation. This may not happen quickly, as you both may need time to re-establish trust. But in the end, your relationship may very well be one that is rich and fulfilling.

What if I have to interact with the person who hurt me but I don’t want to?

These situations are difficult. If the hurt involves a family member, it may not always be possible to avoid him or her entirely. You may be invited to the same family holiday gatherings, for instance. If you’ve reached a state of forgiveness, you may be able to enjoy these gatherings without bringing up the old hurts. If you haven’t reached forgiveness, these gatherings may be tense and stressful for everyone, particularly if other family members have chosen sides in the conflict.

So how do you handle this? First, remember that you do have a choice whether to attend or not attend family get-togethers. Respect yourself and do what seems best. If you choose to go, don’t be surprised by a certain amount of awkwardness and perhaps even more intense feelings. It’s important to keep an eye on those feelings. You don’t want them to lead you to be unjust or unkind in return for what was done to you.

Also, avoid drinking too much alcohol as a way to try to numb your feelings or feel better โ€” it’ll likely backfire. And keep an open heart and mind. People do change, and perhaps the offender will want to apologize or make amends. You also may find that the gathering helps you to move forward with forgiveness.

How do I know when I’ve truly forgiven someone?

Forgiveness may result in sincerely spoken words such as “I forgive you” or tender actions that fit the relationship. But more than this, forgiveness brings a kind of peace that helps you go on with life. The offense is no longer front and center in your thoughts or feelings. Your hostility, resentment and misery have made way for compassion, kindness and peace.

Also, remember that forgiveness often isn’t a one-time thing. It begins with a decision, but because memories or another set of words or actions may trigger old feelings, you may need to recommit to forgiveness over and over again.

What if the person I’m forgiving doesn’t change?

Getting the other person to change their actions, behavior or words isn’t the point of forgiveness. In fact, the other person may never change or apologize for the offense. Think of forgiveness more about how it can change your life โ€” by bringing you more peace, happiness, and emotional and spiritual healing.

Forgiveness takes away the power the other person continues to wield in your life. Through forgiveness, you choose to no longer define yourself as a victim. Forgiveness is done primarily for yourself, and less so for the person who wronged you.

What if I’m the one who needs forgiveness?

It may help to spend some time thinking about the offense you’ve committed and trying to determine the effect it has had on others. Unless it may cause more harm or distress, consider admitting the wrong you’ve done to those you’ve harmed, speaking of your sincere sorrow or regret, and specifically asking for forgiveness โ€” without making excuses.

But if this seems unwise because it may further harm or distress, don’t do it โ€” it’s not about making yourself feel better by apologizing. You don’t want to add salt to a painful wound. Also, keep in mind that you can’t force someone to forgive you. They will need to move to forgiveness in their own time.

In any case, we have to be willing to forgive ourselves. Holding on to resentment against yourself can be just as toxic as holding on to resentment against someone else. Recognize that poor behavior or mistakes don’t make you worthless or bad.

Accept the fact that you โ€” like everyone else โ€” aren’t perfect. Accept yourself despite your faults. Admit your mistakes. Commit to treating others with compassion, empathy and respect. And again, talking with a spiritual leader, mental health provider or trusted friend or relative may be helpful.

Forgiveness of yourself or someone else, though not easy, can transform your life. Instead of dwelling on the injustice and revenge, instead of being angry and bitter, you can move toward a life of peace, compassion, mercy, joy and kindness.

Kikou Face Massage

How do you finish off your meditation, kikou (the Japanese name for Qigong) or other energy exercises? Floating around in space and then WHAM! You’re back on earth? The kikou face massage is designed to bring you back down to earth gently and to focus the energy you have been working with. I teach this technique to all my Reiki students and hopefully you (Reiki Masters reading this) will too. (Reiki students are welcome to share this technique with your teachers as well).

First of all, when we practice kikou our eyes should always be closed. Energy is released through the eyes, tongue, heart centre, palms and feet. While practicing kikou we normally lock the hui yin point (the area between Ren1 and Du1. See previous blog on the meridians.) and the tongue touches the roof of the mouth lightly (connecting Du 28 and Ren24) to close the circuits, so to speak, and to allow the energy to circulate in the body (from Du1 to Du28 and then from Ren 24 down to Ren1). On completion of the kikou exercise/s we want to bask in the energy (Reiki Undรด – experiencing/expressing movement of spiritual energy) and just enjoy it… The build-up of energy in the body while doing this kind of energy work will manifest as vibrations and shaking and even swaying of/in the body. Just enjoy the feeling. When you feel ready to ground and come back to earth you start the face massage (keeping your eyes closed at all times!).

Before we start, a quick note about the measurement system used when working with the energy points.

In Acupuncture, Acupressure and Shiatsu the body is measured not in absolute units, but in the relative, proportional units of a given person. The distances are determined by anatomical-topographical landmarks. The basic unit of measurement is the cun (ๅฏธ cรนn). The measurements are obtained from the measurements of the thumb and fingers of the person/patient.

cun

1 cun = The width of the thumb at the level of the interphalangeal joint.
1.5 cun = The width of the index and middle fingers at the level of the interphalangeal joint.
3 cun = The width of the four fingers held together at the level of the proximal interphalangeal joint of the longer fingers.

Kikou Face Massage and Sounding the Heavenly Drum

See images below

  1. Briskly rub the palms of your hands together.
  2. Place your warm palms over your closed eyes and apply light pressure 2 or 3 times.
  3. Using two or three fingers together and starting from the inner, lower corners, massage the rims around the eyes, starting with small circles and making them bigger and bigger until you are massaging the whole face, them move up the head from front to back, through the hair and down the neck.
  4. Use your index or middle fingers to massage the BL1 (็›ๆ˜Ž jฤซng mรญng – Bright Eyes) energy points located in the depression 0.1 cun1 medial and superior to the inner canthus of your eyes a few times to stimulate energy flow.
  5. Massage the BL2 (ๆ”ข็ซน cuรกn zhรบ – Gathered Bamboo) energy points at the medial end of the eyebrow in the incisura frontalis.
  6. Stroke the eyebrows a few times with your fingers, moving from medial end of the eyebrow in the incisura frontalis to the lateral end of the eyebrow, near the bony limit of the orbit.
  7. Massage the meizhong (็œ‰ไธญ mรฉi zhลng – Centre of the Brow) energy points located on the eyebrow in the incisura frontalis, 1.5 cun from the midline (in the centre of the brow).
  8. Move along the eyebrows to the lateral end of the eyebrow and massage the SJ23 (็ตฒ็ซน็ฉบ sฤซ zhรบ kลng – Silken Bamboo Hollow) energy points located on the posterior border were the temple meets the hairline, verntral to the anterior border of the root of the ear muscle, dorsal to the superficial temporal vein.
  9. Massage the GB1 (็žณๅญ้ซŽ tรณng zว liรกo – Pupil Cervice) energy points located 0.5 cun lateral to the outer canthus of the eye, in the depression at the lateral end of the orbit.
  10. Massage the ST1 (ๆ‰ฟๆณฃ chรฉng qรฌ – Container of Tears) energy points located directly below the pupil, between the eyeball and inferior infraorbital foramen.
  11. Return to the BL1 (็›ๆ˜Ž jฤซng mรญng – Bright Eyes) energy points, thus making a complete cycle around the eyes.
  12. Use the thumb and the middle or index fingers to stroke the naso-labial groove from the BL1 (็›ๆ˜Ž jฤซng mรญng – Bright Eyes) energy points to the LI20 (่ฟŽ้ฆ™ yรญng xiฤng – Welcome Fragrance) energy points a few times. The LI20 energy point is located in the naso-labial groove, near the midpoint of the lateral border of the ala nasi (wing of the nose).
  13. Massage the LI20 (่ฟŽ้ฆ™ yรญng xiฤng – Welcome Fragrance) energy points.
  14. While holding the LI20 (่ฟŽ้ฆ™ yรญng xiฤng – Welcome Fragrance) energy points hook your thumbs around to the SJ17 (็ฟณ้ขจ yรฌ fฤ“ng – Wind Screen) energy points located dorsal to the earlobe, in the depression between the mastoid process and the lower jaw.
  15. Bring your middle or index fingers around to the SJ17 (็ฟณ้ขจ yรฌ fฤ“ng – Wind Screen) energy points, release the thumbs and massage.
  16. Bring your thumbs to the SJ17 (็ฟณ้ขจ yรฌ fฤ“ng – Wind Screen) energy points and release your middle or index fingers and bring the palms of your hands around to the EX-HN5 (ๅคช้™ฝ tร i yรกng – Supreme Yang) energy points located in the depression approximately one middle finger width dorsal to the midpoint between the lateral border of the eyebrow and the outer canthus of the eye. Release your thumbs and slide your hands up and massage the EX-HN5 energy points with the broad bases of your thumbs (at the base of your palms).
  17. Finally perform โ€œSounding the Heavenly Drumsโ€ by covering your ears with your palms, your middle fingers over the BL9 (็މๆž• yรน zhฤ›n – Jade Pillow) energy points and your index fingers over the BL10 (ๅคฉๆŸฑ tiฤn zhรน – Celestial Pillar) energy points. Ensure that your middle finger tips do not touch. The BL9 energy point is located 2.5 cun within the ideal posterior hairline, at the level of the upper ridge of the external occipital protuberance, 1.5 cun lateral to the midline. The BL10 energy point is located 0.5 cun within the ideal anterior hairline, 1.3 cun lateral to the midline in the depression at the lateral edge of the trapezius muscle.
  18. Place your index fingers on your middle fingers and using the middle fingers as pivots, flick your index fingers down on the back of your head, gently hitting the BL9 and BL10 energy points 24 times.
  19. Only focus on the positive thoughts while Sounding the Heavenly Drums. Think about yourself, family and friends and send love and healing thoughts your way.
  20. A soon as you completed sounding heaven’s drums immediately start moving around… stomp your feet… rub your hands together… walk around… do the dishes… sweep the floor… whatever… Just move.

Twelve Signs of Spiritual Awakening

By Geoffrey Hoppe (channeling Tobias)

  1. Body aches and pains, especially in the neck, shoulder and back. This is the result of intense changes at your DNA level as the “Christ seed” awakens within. This too shall pass.
  2. Feeling of deep inner sadness for no apparent reason. You are releasing your past (this lifetime and others) and this causes the feeling of sadness. This is similar to the experience of moving from a house where you lived in for many, many years into a new house. As much as you want to move into the new house, there is a sadness of leaving behind the memories, energy and experiences of the old house. This too shall pass.
  3. Crying for no apparent reason. Similar to #2 above. It’s good and healthy to let the tears flow. It helps to release the old energy within. This too shall pass.
  4. Sudden change in job or career. A very common symptom. As you change, things around you will change as well. Don’t worry about finding the “perfect” job or career right now. This too shall pass. You’re in transition and you may make several job changes before you settle into one that fits your passion.
  5. Withdrawal from family relationships. You are connected to your biological family via old karma. When you get off the karmic cycle, the bonds of the old relationships are released. It will appear as though you are drifting away from your family and friends. This too shall pass. After a period of time, you may develop a new relationship with them if it is appropriate. However, the relationship will be based in the new energy without the karmic attachments.
  6. Unusual sleep patterns. It’s likely that you’ll awaken many nights between 2:00 and 4:00 AM. There’s a lot of work going on within you, and it often causes you to wake up for a “breather.” Not to worry. If you can’t go back to sleep, get up and do something rather than lay in bed and worry about humanly things. This too shall pass.
  7. Intense dreams. These might include war and battle dreams, chase dreams or monster dreams. You are literally releasing the old energy within, and these energies of the past are often symbolized as wars, running to escape and boogiemen. This too shall pass.
  8. Physical disorientation. At times you’ll feel very ungrounded. You’ll be “spatially challenged” with the feeling like you can’t put two feet on the ground, or that you’re walking between two worlds. As your consciousness transitions into the new energy, you body sometimes lags behind. Spend more time in nature to help ground the new energy within. This too shall pass.
  9. Increased “self talk.” You’ll find yourself talking to your Self more often. You’ll suddenly realize you’ve been chattering away with yourself for the past 30 minutes. There is a new level of communication taking place within your being, and you’re experiencing the tip of the iceberg with the self talk. The conversations will increase, and they will become more fluid, more coherent and more insightful. You’re not going crazy, you’re just Shaumbra (Family and Deep Inner Friendship) moving into the new energy.
  10. Feelings of loneliness, even when in the company of others. You may feel alone and removed from others. You may feel the desire to “flee” groups and crowds. As Shaumbra (Family and Deep Inner Friendship), you are walking a sacred and lonely path. As much as the feelings of loneliness cause you anxiety, it is difficult to relate to others at this time. The feelings of loneliness are also associated with the fact that your Guides have departed. They have been with you on all of your journeys in all of your lifetimes. It was time for them to back away so you could fill your space with your own divinity. This too shall pass. The void within will be filled with the love and energy of your own Christ consciousness.
  11. Loss of passion. You may feel totally disimpassioned, with little or no desire to do anything. That’s OK, and it’s just part of the process. Take this time to “do no-thing.” Don’t fight yourself on this, because this too shall pass. It’s similar to rebooting a computer. You need to shut down for a brief period of time in order to load the sophisticated new software, or in this case, the new Christ-seed energy.
  12. A deep longing to go Home. This is perhaps the most difficult and challenging of any of the conditions. You may experience a deep and overwhelming desire to leave the planet and return to Home. This is not a “suicidal” feeling. It is not based in anger or frustration. You don’t want to make a big deal of it or cause drama for yourself or other. There is a quiet part of you that wants to go Home. The root cause for this is quite simple. You have completed your karmic cycles. You have completed your contract for this lifetime. You are ready to begin a new lifetime while still in this physical body. During this transition process, you have an inner remembrance of what it is like to be on the other side. Are you ready to enlist for another tour of duty here on Earth? Are you ready to take on the challenges of moving into the New Energy? Yes, indeed you could go Home right now. But you’ve come this far, and after many, many lifetimes it would be a shame to leave before the end of the movie. Besides, Spirit needs you here to help others transition into the new energy. They will need a human guide, just like you, who has taken the journey from the old energy into the new. The path you’re walking right now provides the experiences to enable you to become a Teacher of the New Divine Human. As lonely and dark as your journey can be at times, remember that you are never alone.

Antahkarana

Antahkarana โ€“ Ancient Symbol of Healing

antahkarana

Alice Bailey and several other authors of Tibetan philosophy have some knowledge of the Antahkarana which you can find in a number of books. They describe the Antahkarana as a part of spiritual anatomy. It is the connection between the physical brain and the Higher Self. It is this connection that must heal and develop if we are to grow spiritually. The Antahkarana symbol depicted and described here represents this connection and activates it whenever you are in its presence. The science of Radionics indicates that lines drawn on paper create a psychic effect on the space surrounding the drawing and will influence the human aura and chakras in various ways depending on the pattern created. This validates the age-old practice of yantra meditation which makes use of visual images to purify and evolve the consciousness. The Antahkarana is an ancient healing and meditation symbol that has been used in Tibet and China for thousands of years. It is a powerful symbol and simply by having it in your presence, it will create a positive affect on the chakras and aura. When doing healing work, it focuses and deepens the actions of the healing energies involved. When meditating with the symbol on your person or close by, it automatically creates what the Taoists call the great microcosmic orbit wherein spiritual energies travel up the spine, over the crown chakra, then down through the front of the body to the root chakra and back up again continuously moving around and around. This action balances the chakras and prevents too much energy building up in one or more chakras. The Anthakarana symbol will also neutralize negative energy that has collected in objects such as jewelry or crystals simply by placing the object between two symbols. In addition, it will enhance all healing work including Reiki, Mahikari, Jin Shin, Polarity Therapy, Chiropractic, Hypnotherapy, and Past Life Regression. These positive effects have been confirmed over and over by the improved results noted by those using the symbol and by clairvoyant observation by those trained in sensing changes in the aura and chakras. This symbol is multi-dimensional. From one perspective it appears to be two dimensional, being made-up of three sevens on a flat surface. The three sevens represent the seven chakras, the seven colors and the seven tones of the musical scale. These three sevens are mentioned in the book of Revelations as the seven candle sticks, the seven trumpets and the seven seals. From another perspective this symbol appears as a three dimensional cube. Its energy moves up from two to three dimensions that can be seen and continues up through unseen dimensions all the way to the highest dimension โ€” the dimension of the Higher-Self. The Tibetan meditation practice that used the Antahkarana took place in a room lit with candles. In the middle of the room was a large earthenware vessel shaped in an oval which symbolized the cosmic egg of the universe. The vessel was filled with several inches of water and in the middle was a stool. On the seat of the stool, inlaid in silver was the Antahkarana Symbol. One wall was covered with copper that was polished to a mirror finish. Tapestries which displayed Reiki symbols were hung on the opposite wall. A Tibetan Lama meditator would sit on the stool and gaze steadily at the image of the Reiki symbol reflected in the polished copper mirror. This yantra meditation would create one-pointedness in the mind of the meditator, uniting the consciousness with the transcendental energies of the Reiki Symbol while the Antahkarana Symbol on the stool would focus the energies generated and cause them to evenly flow through all the chakras and to connect with Earth. It is clear that the Tibetans did not originate the symbol and there is no written record as to its true origin.* However, through clairvoyant perception the symbol was first given to the people of Earth during Lemurian times over 100,000 years ago. This was the same time Reiki was first brought to Earth by the Holy Spirit. The Antahkarana was created by a counsel of Ascended Masters who are watching over the evolution of the Galaxy. They saw that the people of Earth were in trouble and needed help in re-establishing their connection with the Higher Self. They created the symbol and using a decree, imbued it with its own consciousness. Now anyone who uses it will have the connection between the physical brain and the Higher Self strengthened. It is the Higher Self that creates and guides the benefits of the symbol and that is why it can never be used for harm.

Directions for Use

The Antahkarana is a special symbol that has its own consciousness. It does not need an attunement for it to work. It is the image of the printed symbol that creates the effect. It works directly with your aura and chakras and varies its healing effect depending on what you need at the time of use. Since it is directed by the Higher Self, it always has a beneficial effect and can never be misused or used to cause harm. The symbols can be placed under a massage table, or under the bottom of a chair or you could sit on them. They can also be placed on the wall or they can be held against your body with the print facing the area that needs healing.

Use in Reiki Treatments

The cloth symbols work best for use when giving Reiki treatments as they allow you to place them on the clients body over the areas needing healing. When used in this way, you can then place your hands on top of the symbol and do Reiki through the symbol into the client. This will make your treatments more effective and the person will heal faster. The multiple symbol is great for releasing blocked energy. If you sense a block, place the multiple symbol over the are with the image facing down and place your hands on top of the symbol. You’ll find that the block breaks up and is release much more quickly. The male, female and cosmic cross symbols each have their own vibration and will add that particular type of benefit to the treatment. Just use your intuition to determine which symbol to use.The Antahkarana symbols can also be placed on the floor under the Reiki table or even tacked to the bottom of the table with the image facing up. Remember, just having the in your presence will have a beneficial effect.

Use in Meditation

You can meditate directly on the Antahkarana by gazing steadily at it with your eyes relaxed, gently brushing away any thoughts that may come up. With continued practice the image may begin to shift and change or to fade in and out, or it may disappear completely. This is good because it indicates you have entered a deeper level of meditation and are receiving greater benefit. Do not allow this to disturb you. Continue your steady relaxed gaze. You may even begin to see pictures in front of the image that are very pleasant and relaxing. A single meditation with the symbol will be beneficial during times of stress. However regular use is best, setting aside 10 to 30 minutes each day for meditation on the Antahkarana. The value you receive will develop along with your mental clarity and a sense of peace and security will stay with you throughout the day.

Uses of Each Symbol

There are several variations of the symbol. The large single symbol is more female and creates its healing in a gentle way healing the female energies of both men and women. The smaller single symbol is more male and more direct, focused and penetrating and will heal the male energy of both men and women. Use your intuition in deciding which one to use.The Sacred/Cosmic Cross is made of seven symbols crossing each other. This represents the seven major chakras. This symbol will purify your energy and can be used to open the heart. The square multiple symbol made of sixteen symbols will break up blocked and congested energy, and get stuck energy moving. This symbol can also scatter your energy so it is recommended that you follow its use with the single male symbol to create centering and grounding.

Experiment

The Antahkarana symbols lend themselves easily to experimentation so allow yourself to be guided to new uses. Some people have silk screened them onto t-shirts, others have placed the small wallet size in their shoes (to help them run faster and jump higher). You can also tape the wallet size โ€” using surgical tape over a chakra or over an area that is weak or in need of healing and it will immediately strengthen the area. The universe is filled with wonder and mystery and as we trust only in the light and boldly explore our true nature, untold value will be revealed to us. The Antahkarana is a symbol that gives freely to all. May you benefit greatly as you explore its use in your journey back to Light.

A MUST HAVE Book for EVERY Reiki Practitioner

The Original Reiki Handbook of Dr. Mikao Usui

THE ORIGINAL REIKI HANDBOOK OF DR. MIKAO USUI

Product Description

Dr. Mikao Usui developed the Reiki System and founded the original Japanese Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai organization. This book shows you the original hand positions of Dr. Usui’s Reiki Handbook. It has been illustrated with 100 photos to make it easier to understand. The hand positions for a great variety of health complaints have been listed in detail, making it a valuable reference work for anyone who practices Reiki. Now that the original handbook has been translated into English, Dr. Usui’s hand positions and healing techniques can be studied directly for the first time. Whether you are an initiate or a master,if you practice Reiki you can expand your knowledge dramatically as you following the footsteps of a great healer.

Reviews

The translation of Dr. Usui’s Reiki handbook is a a very significant development for the Reiki community. At last we have proof that Reiki is not an oral tradition and that Dr. Usui gave out written material to all his students. I find the exercises to be useful and that my Reiki healing abilities have increased. The explanations and the insights about the origins of Reiki are also helpful. The color pictures of the hand positions Dr. Usui recommends for various illnesses and conditions are wonderful. I have tried some of them and found them to work. I am very pleased that we now have such detailed information from the founder of the Usui system to use in our Reiki practices. Thank you Arjava and Chetna for taking the time to write this very important book.

I am a Reiki Master Teacher and believe that the wonderful information researched and shared by Frank Arjava Petter in The Original Reiki Handbook of Dr. Usui is extremely helpful, beautifully photographed, and interesting.Dr. Usui’s methods shared here are quite advanced and can enhance the effectiveness for someone who has practiced using Reiki and now wants to learn more. I believe that it would be a bit challenging for a novice to pick up this book and learn what they need to know to find out about basic Reiki. In my humble opinion, I believe that there are other more suitable books out there for beginners – Healing Reiki by Eleanor McKenzie is one. This book should be a part of any serious Reiki practitioner’s library. Frank Arjava Petter is doing all of us a great service by researching and sharing this information, and I, like the others, hunger for more information from Dr. Usui. Mr. Petter seems clearly sincere in his desire to share his work with us, however, I would prefer more from Dr. Usui and less from Mr. Petter in the commentary. I thank Mr. Petter for finding and passing along this very helpful and loving, healing information!

I found this book to be incredibly useful in my Reiki practice. Even though I had the manuals from my Reiki Master, this book helped to fill in some of the gaps. I still refer to it from time to time.

This is a full-colour book that details with photographs the hands positions used in Reiki. It’s only 80 pages long, but it’s perfect for what it is. It covers all part of the body, including the head, the vertebrae and the kidneys. Essential little reference book if you practice or teach Reiki.

I am so glad they finally put this into print. It has all the hand positions along with specific treatments Usui used. A must have.

Being a student of Traditional Usui Reiki, I found this book to be very informative in both the history of Reiki and its applications. Very happy to utilize this book in my practice.

A GUIDE TO A METHOD OF HEALING

A Study of Reiki by Chujiro Hayashi

translated by Teruko Low, edited by Harue Kanemitsu ยฉ 1992

Comments: This is a translation of a 40 page paper that Dr. Chujiro Hayashi had produced on Reiki treatments, some time before he taught Hawayo Takata, but presumably after he taught Mr. Tatsumi (this was not found amongst his possessions after Tatsumi-san’s death). The preceding page and the page with the diagram of the body, are the actual first and last pages. It is believed the forerunner to this table is the one produced by Mikao Usui and found in Sensei’s Reiki booklet called Reiki Ryoho Hikkei.

The translation starts off in the way Hayashi-san presented it, then becomes a table for the remainder of the document (created by Harue Kanemitsu โ€” note: she took her level 1 and 2 training from Mrs. Takata and Master level from Wanja Twan and Barbara Brown). Ms. Kanemitsu has added in Mrs. Takata’s comments, as well as her own. I substituded F where Ms. Kanemitsu had the sign for “female”.

Introduction to Text

The following Reiki text is of the Usui System of Natural Healing. Takata Sensei’s writings and oral teachings on methods to the original text are indicated by “T”, and editor’s notes are in (in parenthesis), but it is basically Hayashi Sensei’s work, arranged to be more usable, Hayashi’s comments on the prognosis of cancer are not included, because it has since been shown otherwise. Seemingly unrelated parts are usually connected through meridians (such as groin point for blood clearing).

Note: F= female

Heart Sutra

Heart Sutra

{mp3}heartsutra{/mp3}

In Sanskrit:
Bhagawati Prajnaparamita Hridaya.

In Tibetan:
Chomdendema Sherab kyi Pharol tu Chinpe Hnyingpo.

altFrom the first sloka:

At one time I heard this speech: The Victorious Conqueror [Buddha] was at the King’s castle on Vulture Hill in India, together with a great congregation of monks and a great congregation of bodhisattvas.

And at that time the great boddhisattva, exhalted Chenrezig the mighty, himself completely accomplished in the deep wisdom gone to the other side (prajnaparamita), saw the five earthly heaps, and saw that they were, by their very nature, completly empty.

Thereupon, by the power of Buddha, honorable Sariputra spoke thus to the great boddhisatva, the exalted Chenrezig the mighty:

“Noble son, how should a person be taught who will succeed in accomplishing the deep knowledge gone to the other shore?”

That having been said, Boddhisatva Avalokitesvara said to Sharadwatibu:

“Sharibu, noble men and noble women, a person who desires to succeed in the accomplishment of the deep wisdom gone to the other side (Prajnaparamita) shall see in exactly this way; for he will have seen that those five heaps are, in reality, by their very nature completely empty.

“Form is empty. Emptiness [sunyata] is form. The action [karma] of form is not other than emptiness, nor is the action of emptiness other than form. Of this nature are also feeling, cognition, conception, and consciousness.

“Sharibu, in this way all dharmas are empty; without essential characteristic, not born, not ceasing, without defilement or expiation of defilement, undiminished, uncompleted.

“Sharibu, in this way, in emptiness there is no form, no feeling, no cognition, no conception, no consciousness.

“There is no eye, no ear, no nose, no tongue, no body, no mind, no shape, no sound, no color, no flavor, no feeling, nor any property. There is no dhatu of eye…no dhatu of mind; nor is there mind-vijnana dhatu.

“No ignorance; from no cessation of ignorance to no old age and death; including no cessation of old age and death.

“Of that nature are also suffering, misery and sin, and cessation. There is no path, no wisdom, no attainment, and no non-attainment.

“Sharibu, in this way all buddhas, because of their non-attainment, abiding firmly by Prajnaparamita, are without mental obscurations ard are unafraid; they are truly passed beyond confusion, and are finally passed beyond suffering.

“All buddhas residing in the past, present, and future, through firmness in Prajnaparamita, have become buddhas of supreme and complete enlightenment.

“Thus the Prajnaparamita mantra, the mantra of great knowledge, the unexceeded mantra, the unequaled mantra, the mantra that truly assuages all suffering, true and wise.

“The Prajnaparamita mantra spoken:

“Gate gate paragate parasamgate bodhi swaha.

“Sharibu, this is how boddhisattvas teach Prajnaparamita.”

Thereupon, the Victorious Conqueror arose from deep meditation and blessed Boddhisattva Avalokitshvara thus: Well done, well done!

“Noble son, that is so; noble son, that is ever so.

“By thus adhering to Prajnaparamita you shall become accomplished. You will look at everything this way, and therefore rejoice.”

The Buddha having thus spoken, Saradwatibu and Boddhisattva Avalokitshvara and the sangha and the gods and men and asuras and devas were joyful, and praised the Buddha’s speech.

: The end.

What are the Five Precepts?

The five precepts, or gokai as they are called in Japan, are guidelines to aid students in their journey toward spiritual development. Mikao Usui taught them from as early as 1915. The Usui Reiki Ryรดhรด Gakkai perform gokai sansho, or the chanting of the five precepts three times, at the end of their regular group meetings. The five precepts are the six sentences in the centre of the entire poetic teaching. The teaching consists of an introduction, the five precepts themselves, directions on how and when to use them and what the result of this practice will be. An old Japanese version of the fie precepts was in the top left hand corner of a photo of Mikao Usui that was provided to Frank Arjava Petter by Tsutomu Oishi.

The Five Precepts in Detail

Here is a look at some meanings that may lay behind the five precepts.

The secret of inviting happiness through many blessings
The spiritual medicine for all illness

This first paragraph introduces the โ€˜secretโ€™. It alludes to spirituality being an instrument to good health. The โ€˜many blessingsโ€™ may be the benefits of the repeated receiving of the attunements. Mikao Usui and the Usui Reiki Ryรดhรด Gakkai performed attunements on a regular basis, believing that many attunements lead to enlightenment. After many years of personal practice and the receiving of the attunement it is understood that the practitioner becomes one with the universe. Another viewpoint may see the practitioner being showered with the blessings that the universe has to offer when practicing the teachings.

For today only:
Do not anger
Do not worry
Be humble
Be honest in your work
Be compassionate to yourself and others

For today only is a practical sentence to keep the practitionerโ€™s minds focused on the NOW. It is the typical Buddhist stance. By focusing on tomorrow โ€” well, tomorrow never comes. Each moment of life is NOW. If these precepts are practiced NOW then they are being practiced in each and every moment of the practitionerโ€™s life.

If you no longer want to create pain for yourself and others, if you no longer want to add to the residue of past pain that still lives on in you, then donโ€™t created any more time, or at least no more than is necessary to deal with the practical aspects of your life. How to stop creating time? Realise deeply that the present moment is all you ever have. Make the NOW the primary focus of your life.
(Excerpt from The Power of NOW by Echart Tolle)

Do not anger is a basic Buddhist principle. Anger not only hurts those in the practitionerโ€™s vicinity but the practitioner him or her self. It is the antithesis of balance. Once the practitioner is no longer a victim to the senses then focus can energetically be placed on the spiritual path.

Sometimes people feel that anger is useful because it brings extra energy and boldness. When we encounter difficulties, we may see anger as a protector. But though anger brings us more energy, that energy is essentially a blind one. There is no guarantee that the energy will not become destructive or our own interests. Therefore, hatred and anger are not all useful.
(Excerpt from the Power of Compassion by His Holiness the Dalai Lama)

Do not worry as this causes stress at all levels. Stress lowers the immune system opening the practitioner up to the possibility of disease. To worry is a lack of faith. Fearfulness is a reaction that does not trust the universe to provide what is best for the practitioner.

โ€ฆ Shantideva says:
If you can solve your problem,
Then what is the need of worrying?
If you cannot solve it,
Then what is the use of worrying? โ€ฆ
(Excerpt from The Healing Power of the Mind by Tulku Thondup)

Be humble and the practitioner will find this humbleness and thankfulness permeating each and every aspect of his or her life. Thoughts will be of a life of abundance rather than want. The importance of material circumstances will no longer be the gauge that existence is based on.

โ€ฆ True happiness relates more to the mind and heart.
Happiness that depends mainly on the physical pleasures is unstable; one day itโ€™s there, the next day it may not beโ€ฆ
(Excerpt from The Art of Happiness by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Howard C. Cutler)

Be honest in your work is asking for the practitioner to be truthfully dedicated to spiritual progress by not becoming a โ€˜spiritual materialistโ€™. There are many words for ‘work’ in Chinese and Japanese. In this case the precepts are referring to spiritual work and spiritual development. ‘Work hard’ should then actually be translated as ‘Work hard at your spiritual development’.

โ€ฆ Understanding the energy consequences of our thoughts and beliefs, as well as our actions, may force us to become honest to a new degree. Lying, either to others or to ourselves, should be out of the question. Genuine, complete healing requires honesty with oneself. An inability to be honest obstructs healing as seriously as the inability to forgive. Honesty and forgiveness retrieve our energy โ€” our spirits โ€” from the energy dimension of โ€˜the pastโ€™.
(Excerpt from Anatomy of the Spirit by Carolyn Myss, Ph.D.)

Be compassionate to yourself and others and the practitioner will remember the connections of all things under the universe.

โ€ฆ numberless times in previous lives we have each fulfilled the role of a mother. The feeling of a mother for a child is a classic example of love. For the safety, protection and welfare of her children, a mother is ready to sacrifice her very life.
(Quote by His Holiness the Dalai Lama)

Mindfulness brings peace to life. This thought reminds human nature that it is compassionate and to understand and experience connectedness. Oneness.

Do gasshรด every morning and evening
Keep in your mind and recite

Gasshรด is the placing of both palms together in front of the chest. It is a sign of respect for oneself, the action and the energy. This simple act balances both the mind and the body.

Keep these precepts in the mind throughout the day. They are not just for reading but also for living.

Improve your mind and body
Usui Reiki Ryรดhรด
Founder Mikao Usui

The last three sentences name the motto, they system and its founder.

Precepts in our Daily Life

It is almost impossible to keep focused on these five precepts 100% of the time. Therefore it must not be considered a โ€˜sinโ€™ when the practitioner is unsuccessful in following each one of them. Buddhist through offers the idea that when a precept is โ€˜brokenโ€™ focus can be placed on forgiveness and kindness towards oneself. This contemplation brings the practitioner full circle back to the original precepts finding the focus, once more, on compassion and the five precepts.

I have had many students from different cultural backgrounds and many of them translated the precepts into their own languages. I’ve heard the precepts in Polish, German, French, Afrikaans, and more. If you have translated the precepts into your own language, please share it with the group.

Another question I receive from time to time is: ‘Is there not a way to have he precepts more positive and in the form of an affirmation?’ Some people don’t like to use ‘don’t’ in the precepts. Affirmations are always in the present, mostly they start with ‘I’ or ‘I am’, affirmations are also always positive. I thought about it long and hard and this is what I came up with:

Now…
I am gentle and calm
I Trust
I am humble and grateful
I focus on spiritual development
I am compassionate to myself and others.
