Responsibility for the Self
In the infinity of life where I am, all is perfect, whole and complete and yet, life is ever changing. There is no beginning and no end, only a constant cycling and recycling of substance and experiences. Life is never stuck or static or stale, for each moment is new and fresh. I am one with the very Power that created me, and this Power has given me the power to create my own circumstances. I rejoice in the knowledge that I have the power of my own mind to use in any way I choose. Every moment of life is a new beginning point as we move from the old.
This moment is a new point of beginning for me right here and right now.
All is well in my world. ~ Louise L. Hay
We are each responsible for all our experiences in this world. Your being in this course is as a result of your own inquiry into the system of Usui Reiki Ryoho. The Law of Attraction has enabled it so that you have come this far, with the help of your spirit guides/angels. The people you meet and the experiences you have, are all as a result of the thoughts and feelings you had before, that have brought you to this very point in your life. Put another way, the thoughts and feelings of yesterday bring forth the experiences and the people you meet tomorrow. Only we are responsible for our lives and no one but ourselves have ultimate power over it.
We are born perfect, whole and complete. We are also born with the ability to heal ourselves, even though this may not have been explained to us when we were young. Many well-meaning parents don’t make their children aware that they have an energetic as well as a physical body that needs as much attention. When one realises that dis-ease first manifests itself on the energetic level and then on the physical body in a specific place, it is easy to see why it is of importance to heal at all levels of the being. When healing takes place at the energetic level, it is less likely that the dis-ease will manifest physically.
Through Usui Reiki Ryoho, we are able to harness Ki and use it to heal our body, mind and spirit. We are able to heal ourselves completely, freeing ourselves from lower or darker energies, which might manifest in our bodies as illness in a multitude of forms. And, as we heal on an energetic level with Reiki, we will find that healing also takes place on the physical body.
Only when we take responsibility for our own healing, can we help others to facilitate their own healing. As Reiki Masters, we do not heal clients, instead, we assist them, through Reiki to heal themselves.
Change
This healing has an effect on everything around you and your life changes. For example, you might start eating more healthily, realising that even food has Ki. You may start choosing food that nourishes and cleanses you instead of poisons you with toxins. Another change might come in the form of new people and a change in social activity. Going to smoky clubs or pubs may no longer prove to be an attraction, but rather you might start choosing to spend more time in natural surroundings such as the sea or in a forest. This is not to say you will become boring! Quite the contrary; as you become increasingly aware of the fact that what you eat, what you do and who you are with, has an effect on you, which can be negative or positive – you endeavour to choose more wisely. Therefore, choosing the positive option through the use of your intuition that is better for you, is caring for and loving yourself, more than you ever have before. Mostly, this happens naturally, without your consciously deciding upon an option. It is almost as if your body and spirit just knows – and your intuition leads you to where you need to be.
You also become a target. This can become a negative experience, but nevertheless, one that you are fully equipped to handle. As you heal yourself, you become more noticeable, especially to those who are in need of healing themselves. Their ‘injured’ energetic body recognises yours as whole, complete and full of light and they react in a certain way. Some will be offended or angry that you have changed. Others will be attracted to your light and want to know how they, too, can have this. They notice your peace and wish to have that serenity for themselves as well. ~ Kryon talks about this in one of his parables; The Parable of the Tar Pit [Don’t Think Like a Human Book 2 (1994:123)]:
Imagine yourself with many other human beings in a tar pit, covered with tar, dirty from head to foot, unable to move quickly from place to place because the tar is thick. This is your imagined state. Suddenly, you discover a ‘magic’ tool from God that cleans your body and keeps it clean even while you are in the tar! You would appear to the others to stand out, for your would be different – white and clean, while others around you are still in tar. So you co-created for yourself the cleanliness. Now, do you think the others around you will ignore you as you walk freely without the tar touching you or encumbering your feet? As they watch the tar touch your body and never soil you? AAHH… watch! They are about to change! The first thing that will happen is that wherever you walk, there will be space, for they will clear the way for you. The second thing that will happen is that they will ask you how such a thing was possible. And when they, too, find the ‘secret tool from God,’ then each of them will begin using it for himself personally. Now, as you look at the group over a period of time, half of them or more will be ‘clean.’ Stop and think about what has really happened. You have not asked for any of them to be clean, and yet the result of just one, created for the many!
As you change yourself from the inside, the world around you changes as well. Your life will become more and more balanced and people around you will notice. Your presence also becomes a healing one – and they will feel the positive effect you have upon them, as you shine your light of love on them.
Usui Reiki Ryoho Everyday
By the end of this course, you will have attained your master level in the system of Usui Reiki Ryoho. It is up to you how you incorporate it into your daily living for your own self-healing.
According to the ‘The Japanese Art of Reiki: A Practical Guide to Self-healing’, by Bronwen and Frans Steine (2005 — ISBN: 1905047029),
The gokai [ed. note: precepts] are in your actions and with every word you speak. Just for today you are the five precepts. Kokyû [ed. note: breathing] techniques strengthen your inner Ki, so that you are no longer swayed so easily by what occurs around you. You learn to take back what is yours and develop it. This strengthened inner core allows you to purposefully extend your Ki, or retract it in any situation. Tenohira [ed. note: palm healing] can be used at any time, any place. If you are tired, place your hands on your hara. If your thumb is sore, cradle it in your other hand. When your head hurts, place one hand on your forehead and the other on the back of the skull. The natural movements receive extra benefit from your conscious application. As you progress through the levels of the system of Reiki, the jumon [ed. note: incantation or mantra] and shirushi [ed. note: symbol] teach you about Ki work, deepening your understanding of, and inner connection to, your path. The receiving of reiju [ed. note: empowerment] is there for everyone and its blessings shower down on both the performer and recipient. If you can receive reiju throughout your life, then this blessing will support your entire healing process. Look at your anger and your worrying. Be humble, honest and compassionate. Breathe in and out with the flow of the universe and draw on your Ki for its higher purpose of healing. Finally, accept that all clearing is supported by the five elements and a healthy lifestyle. This is your chance to make whole again.
Let the infinite wisdom of Reiki heal your body, your mind and your spirit on each and every level. Steer away from boxing Reiki into a compartment of your life labelled spirituality or meditation etc. Rather let Reiki flow into all parts of your life; into your food, into your play, into your work, into your prayer, into your walking, into your talking and into your living! Reiki is for you, for me and is for everyday living.
